Challenging the close[edit]

  • @Armbrust: I disagree with your close here. With so many opposes, and identical issues to Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Nic Stone, this should have been failed as no consensus to promote. I would have opposed too. The text in the background make it clearly not the best picture we could get of this subject. Thanks  — Amakuru (talk) 16:26, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
From the leas of WP:FPC: "Consensus is generally regarded to be a two-third majority in support, including the nominator and/or creator of the image". Armbrust The Homunculus 17:01, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm that's strange, so you don't evaluate the arguments at all? WP:CONSENSUS is usually strength of argument rather than numeric tallying. And it seems to me that given the failure of the other pic, which had the same issues with background text, we should either pass both or neither.  — Amakuru (talk) 17:13, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Different nominations can have different results. One user who opposed the Nic Stone nomination supported this, and another one remained neutral on this one. Also there are two users, who think it adds context to the image. Armbrust The Homunculus 17:21, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
