I'm going to replace it with a higher resolution picture, also from the DOJ. I disagree that it contributes nothing, but I will acknowledge that it is indeed very low resolution. Fuzzform 19:49, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Image of flight attendants around a jet, used decoratively, provides no useful encyclopedic information – Quadell (talk) (random) 14:58, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • I'd argue that it does provide useful encyclopedic information. The photograph is of the 1968 rollout of the very first 747. The flight attendants pictured are representative of each airline that had ordered the 747. The world's very first passenger "jumbo jet" is of note; as well as showing how flight attendants dressed in that era. The picture is used on the 747 page - in context with excellent explainatory text. Just my 2 cents. --65.93.59.196 16:48, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. This is a great picture, but wholly unnecessary for the article. There is no commentary about the photo specifically and its removal would not significantly impair the reader's understanding. howcheng {chat} 21:30, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep It's an iconic image of the aerospace industry in the US. It's one of "the images" of the 20th century...or I'm just being melodramatic...I have a special place in my heart for this picture. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zamoeba (talkcontribs)

  • non-free image used to show what this person looked like when she was 17. We have a free photo of her recently, and her change in appearance is not the subject of the article. – Quadell (talk) (random) 15:02, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong Keep This image is an important historical moment, is correctly sourced and with a detailed rationale. Susan Gayle's appearance at 17 IS key to the article. It was at 17 she was discovered and recruited into The Human Leagueand this was almost exclusively down to her appearance at the time, as is outlined in The Crazy Daisy Story. How she looks today at 44 years old is now completely different to how she looked at 17 (or 25, 32 for that matter). The rationale then goes on to explain her relationship with lifelong best friend Joanne Catherall which is also key to the band's history, also mentioned in the article. There are plenty of Photos on wikipedia that should be deleted, but not those that are playing by the rules. Andi064 18:05, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. I assume the photo is intended to back up the statement, "With unique dance moves, immaculate make-up, and an ultra-feminine dress style, Oakey felt they would be ideal as dancers." First of all, this statement smacks of original research, being uncited. Secondly, I don't see how this photo shows "immaculate make-up" and "an ultra-feminine dress style" that might call for a photo to be understood properly. howcheng {chat} 21:35, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Old European Script characters[edit]

These images are all GFDL, but they're orphans. If they were used, they'd be used in the Old European Script article, but they're not great quality. (There isn't a Unicode equivalent, though, so far as I can tell.) – Quadell (talk) (random) 15:59, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Voting

  • Keep Irreplacible.--Hornetman16 (talk) 20:46, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • Of course they're replaceable. Anyone could redraw them -- preferably in svg format so they weren't so smudged and low quality. But if we're going to keep them or replace them, shouldn't they be used in an article somewhere? – Quadell (talk) (random) 22:24, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
      • I thought about that and was even considering making SVG versions of them, but they're orphaned and I don't even know if they're a complete set or anything. The German version looks like it has a font character table, which may prove just as useful, but it has a lot more characters than are in this list. howcheng {chat} 21:38, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
