Username -- a second time[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "TERAitTeam", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username, by completing this form, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Rhadow (talk) 01:07, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This username is for my use only and represents me and my position. I am not promoting any company just here to enter news and add responses as needed. All information I place here is backed by years of research and again does not promote or advertise any corporation or non profit. Its just the facts. TERAitTeam

I've blocked you as "Team" does not imply a single individual. --NeilN talk to me 04:02, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

January 2018[edit]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. NeilN talk to me 03:59, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Request reason:

I would like my suspension lifted. My response, 1st. I understand your reasoning and I can see now how to edit an article with third party sources and that you can’t cite the source you are defending if they are one in the same. In the future I will make sure I follow the COI procedure. If I want any more changes to the article (see talk:Michael Dourson) I will use the suggest an edit procedure. I am legally blind and there were so many long articles on the procedures I could not read them all. Thank for helping in this matter. 2nd }Your proposal is acceptable in the article (see talk:Michael Dourson). Please add your proposed changes to the article.

Accept reason:

Per appeal. NeilN talk to me 17:20, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, CorvetteRed84. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. Editing for the purpose of advertising or promotion is not permitted. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. NeilN talk to me 16:10, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you state you understand and will abide by the above, I will unblock you. --NeilN talk to me 16:12, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I understand this and I will make sure there will not be any COI's going forward. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CorvetteRed84 (talkcontribs) 17:37, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

January 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. NeilN talk to me 17:47, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
