Proposed deletion of Nadeeka Guruge[edit]

The article Nadeeka Guruge has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The subject appears to fail WP:NMUSIC. The references cited are merely passing mentions that Guruge was the musical director for a number of films, which is insufficient to establish notability (IMDb is considered to be an unreliable source). Yes, I did read that, but it is not unheard of for sources to publish the day after an event. If you read the other ones, they were also published on the 26th, but they specified which day he died, which is the 25th. The ones you posted did not actually specify which day he died. His family just didn't announce his death right away. Remember last November, when Leonard Cohen died on November 7th? Just because all the news sources for that were released on the 10th, would you still argue that he actually died on the 10th? All of the sources that specify what day he died on say that he died on the 25th. Thank you for your contributions to the Wikimedia Projects. As a Sri Lankan editor, you are warmly invited to join the official Wikimedia Community User Group Sri Lanka and to subscribe to its mailing list, Wikimedia-LK.

The user group currently includes volunteers from Wikipedia and other projects, from the English, Sinhala, and Tamil speaking communities. It is the Wikimedia-approved platform for editors from Sri Lanka to enable wider collaboration, for both online and offline projects.

With your support, we hope to organize cross-project content improvement drives as part of online projects, as well as organize in-person edit-a-thons, training sessions, photowalks, and other such activities, in the near future.
