Band[edit]

For a band to be notable, it must meet one or more of the criteria outlined in WP:BAND. Proof of its meeting such criteria must be from a WP:RS (reliable source) independent of the band itself. Note: record label websites, the band's websites, myspace, youtube, and the like are not reliable sources. Try newspaper websites, the BBC, or such. If it charted a hit, there are lots of websites that have official "Top of the Pops" lists (usually the actual authority's website: Arbitron, etc.) If they have won any major awards, the awards bestower will have something about them surely.
