A good candidate must:

Intrinsic requirements
  • Understand consensus
  • Believe that Bureaucrates principly "measure" consensus
  • AGF (reasonably) and be willing to listen and put thought into things
  • Be well trusted
  • Must know when to IAR; not be overly bureacratic or focused on simple stats
  • Plan to use the tools significantly, not just get the title and sit there
  • Be in touch with what being an editor/admin means
Indicators of some of the above
  • Have been decently active in RfA at least in the 30 days or so
    • Exceptions obviously for users with illnesses. Also, a user that was at least very active a few months ago at RfA could pass if it was clear that they were going to become and stay active.
  • Have experience as an administrator
  • Continue to edit somewhat, as that keeps them in touch with our goals
