Scott Kirkland (1970 - ) is a member of the electronic band, The Crystal Method. Kirkland describes his early musical influences as being from both relatively more traditional music, such as the guitar-dominated heavy metal of bands such as AC/DC, Metallica, and has occasionally been spotted bringing Megadeth (specifically, Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?) and other such vinyl to clubs. Furthermore, he describes his interests in early pop-electronic music bands like Depeche Mode and New Order (nee Joy Division), including travelling from Las Vegas to Los Angeles to see the Depeche Mode concert on 18 June, 1988 at The Rose Bowl.

Kirkland also describes involvement with role-playing games as late as "twenty one or twenty two" years of age.
