Tropical Storm Ann

On April 19, the first tropical depression of the year formed in Micronesia. Soon afterward, the depression strengthened into a tropical storm and was named Ann. Ann was the first tropical system named in the west pacific ever. Ann steadily strengthened and reached it's peak strength of 50 mph (80 km/h) on April 21 while still in Micronesia. Ann held peak intensity for 18 hours and weakened by that afternoon. After steadily weakening for the next two days, Ann weakened into a tropical depression as it began to begin re-curvature on the 23^rd Tropical Depression Ann slowly weakened as it finally became extratropical on April 26 while northeast of Guam. Ann has caused no reports of damage or deaths to date.
