Replace[edit]

{{lfpfr|id=103708|name=Patrice Evra}} Remove id and use name to produce http://www.lfp.fr/joueur/evra-patrice -- Magioladitis (talk) 09:23, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notes in order to fix the template[edit]

  • New format is http://www.lfp.fr/joueur/SURNAME-NAME
  • I suggest we make two new parameters |first=, |last= (first=name, last=surname)
  • Take |name= from old template and break it into two parts part 1 = name, part 2 = surname
  • Remove old |id= and |name= -- Magioladitis (talk) 11:25, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Colud also have numbered params as well as first & last, so that {{lfpfr|Patrice|Evra}} would work as well. -- WOSlinker (talk) 08:00, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There's now a version in the sandbox. -- WOSlinker (talk) 08:05, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The template need manual fix. Please use Template:lfpfr2 and clean up this template. No one know which one is fixed and which one is not if the fixed one still use this template. Matthew_hk tc 16:41, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
We can run a bot and make a tracking category for templates still having the |id=. I can make the bot run as soon as WOSlinker prepares the rest. -- Magioladitis (talk) 18:21, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've updated it to work with both old & new formats, so all that would be needed is a tracking category to keep a record of those that need updating. -- WOSlinker (talk) 18:31, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Code Output
{{lfpfr|Patrice|Evra}} Evra – French league stats at LFP – also available in French (archived)
{{lfpfr|first=Patrice|last=Evra}} {{LFP}} template missing ID and not present in Wikidata.
{{lfpfr|id=evra-patrice|name=Patrice Evra}} Patrice Evra – French league stats at LFP – also available in French (archived)

Great work. Tell me what I have to do. Just remove id? -- Magioladitis (talk) 18:53, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've copied over the sandbox into live now. So need to use {{lfpfr/sandbox|Firstname|Lastname}} format now -- WOSlinker (talk) 19:11, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Some people were already using the id param, thus: id=evra-patrice , so I've added support for that as well now. -- WOSlinker (talk) 19:18, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
What action must be done by me then? How do I clean Category:Articles using Template:Lfpfr with old parameters? -- Magioladitis (talk) 11:22, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Heres a couple of examples: [1], [2] -- WOSlinker (talk) 11:49, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Some Brazilian still unable to use a bot. And seems LFP itself had some problem, likes L.Robert had two entry. Matthew_hk tc 19:17, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I tried changing about 5 of these and the new links failed. Rich Farmbrough, 01:09, 2 December 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Here's another oddity: http://www.lfp.fr/joueur/guie-guie-gneki-abraham ... Rich Farmbrough, 20:49, 4 December 2010 (UTC).[reply]
Fixed by using the id & name params instead. See [3] -- WOSlinker (talk) 20:59, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Broken[edit]

When I click a link, that goes to the supposedly correct link eg http://www.ligue1.com/joueur/cisse-ibrahim, I get the message "You do not have permission to view this directory or page.". The same goes for other links.--Auric talk 15:19, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

URL has changed. Please replace "www.ligue1.com/joueur/" by "www.ligue1.com/player?id=" Football Lab (talk) 20:25, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have updated the sandbox, but the examples I have tried keep coming back "Non défini". Can you give some examples that work? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 20:55, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Agree that this needs to be fixed as noted here and in the previous talk page section; however, not convinced that this is the correct link format. For one thing, when I tried to find "Ibrahim Cisse" (from the above section), the format https://www.ligue1.com/player?id=cisse-ibrahim doesn't work. It does work if the given name and surname are reversed, as in https://www.ligue1.com/player?id=ibrahim-cisse, so it looks like the ligue1 website has completely altered their id format. If we can fix this, then we should, because a lot of reader links have broken. Then the Wikidata crew can catch up later. I just wish I knew how to fix it properly! Will keep looking into it. If it was just a case of changing XXXXX-YYYYY into YYYYY-XXXXX then it would be very easy. But I'm sure it's not as simple as that! — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 15:09, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Meanwhile, editors might look into two other templates that are linked in the [See also] section, {{LFP Ligue 1}} and {{LFP Ligue 2}}. They might be a partial or even full solution to all this. P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 14:52, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not done for now: Doesn't appear to be the correct fix. Izno (talk) 21:58, 18 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
