  • For possible future reference, there is an active company called UniFi, a manufacturer and recycler of plastic fibers (founded in North Carolina in 1971). It makes a line of recycled fiber products called Repreve being sold to several major US corporations. Such fibers are increasingly important worldwide as water shortages develop.
