Some in the African American community still see [[AIDS]] as a gay disease and homophobia is one of the main barriers preventing better treatment for people in AIDS in the black community. Sad attempt at a 'revenge' article[edit]

The article-creator's own sources place African-American support for gay marriage at 59% and says "that black people have now become more supportive of marriage equality than whites are." [1] Yet the editor claims that "Blacks have been consistently polled to be mostly anti-gay." The editor has created another attack page, Homophobia in the Latino community, but notice the glaring lack of a Homophobia in the White community article. This racist attempt to pathologize Blacks and Latinos was clearly motivated by the overwhelming "keep" votes when Racism in the LGBT community was put up for deletion. The article doesn't even distinguish which "Black community" it's targeting, in the process failing to meet a global perspective. Am86 (talk) 03:45, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This will not be a revenge article when I'm finished with it. I'm going to make all these articles well sourced. Besides we don't have an article about racism in the Heterosexual Cisgender community. Your comparison doesn't make logical sense. I asked why there isn't an article about Homophobia in the White community. Is homophobia a special quality exclusive to Blacks or Latinos? Homophobia in the White community will probably be covered in the Homophobia article. You do realize that homophobia in ethnic communities is a huge problem for LGBT People of Color. You might be right this might have started as a revenge article but starting tommorow I'm going to make it and other articles of this type good articles. They already have alot of sources. And homophobia has nothing to do with ethnicity. Terrible Article[edit]

The article lacks a lead, probably because it is totally unclear on what its topic is. Currently it appears to be purely about African-American attitudes to gays, but fudges the issue by describing itself as being about "the black community". There is no such a global "black community" united in its homophobia.

Yes, there is a section about the UK, but this amounts to little other than a "me to".

If a lead could be written that establishes two things;

  • what "black community" is being discussed and how it is identified
  • there is something uniquely different about its homophobia distinct from all others

Do you honestly think that Homophobia in the Black British community could stand on its own. Usually the reason for a split is because an article is too big and covers too much information. I think we should either discuss the split proposal now or take it down its been up since August and no one has really talked about it.
