Next (Chinese: 乐华七子NEXT; pinyin: Yuè Huá Qī Zi NEXT ; Hangul: 넥스트; stylized as NEXT) is a Chinese boy group signed to Yuehua Entertainment. The group consists of seven members: Zhu Zhengting, Bi Wenjun, Huang Xinchun, Fan Chengcheng, Huang "Justin" Minghao, Ding Zeren, and Li Quanzhe.

The group originally debuted as NEX7 in June 2018 and has released two EPs. In November 2019, the group renamed as NEXT with the released of their third EP Next Begins after member Fan Cheng Cheng not participated in the EP.[1]

History[edit]

Pre-debut[edit]

Prior to debuting, members Zhu Zhengting and Justin took part in Korea's Produce 101 and gained international attention. As Yuehua Entertainment trainees, all members competed in China's Idol Producer, making it into the final project group Nine Percent.[2]

2018: Debut[edit]

The group debuted on June 21, 2018, with the first part of their debut EP The First and its lead single "Wait a Minute".[3] They continue released more part of their debut EP titled The First II on July 18 followed by The First III on August 17.[4] The group released their second EP Next To You on December 7.[5]

2019: Renamed as NEXT[edit]

On November 8, 2019, the group continue their activities as NEXT (乐华七子NEXT) while also releasing their third EP, Next Begins.[6]

2020: My Love[edit]

On September 29, 2020, the group released a new single entitled "My Love". On October 9, an animated music video was released to accompany it.[7]
