Madison Hu (born June 2, 2002[1]) is an American actress. She is known for playing the role of Frankie Wong on the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark, and for her previous recurring role as Marci on another Disney Channel series, Best Friends Whenever. More recently she played Grace, a recurring role in the American action comedy drama series The Brothers Sun, which premiered in January 2024.

Early life[edit]

Hu was born in Longview, Texas,[2] the daughter of Chinese immigrants. She has an older brother who was born in China.[3] Hu moved to Southern California, where she started to work as an actress.[4]

Career[edit]

Hu started her career as a child actress. By about age six, Hu already had a manager in the entertainment industry.[4] Hu's first notable role was on the Disney Channel series Best Friends Whenever, playing the recurring character Marci.[5] She was later cast in the leading role as Frankie in the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark.[6][7] Following her role on Bizaardvark, it was announced that she had been cast in the science fiction film Voyagers; the film was released in April 2021.[8][9] She appeared in two 2023 horror films, Night Shift and The Boogeyman.[10][11]

Personal life[edit]

Hu and Olivia Rodrigo met as young teens while auditioning for Bizaardvark, and struck up an instant friendship that translated into landing the co-lead roles of best friends on the series – which they continue to be in real life.[12]

As of December 2023, while continuing to work as an actress, Hu attends Columbia University.[12]
