Removed "MAC ROCKS!!!!" from the copyright usage information on this page as that statement does not in any way, shape, or form deal with the copyright of the OS X desktop environment screenshot. Pgk1 03:07, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Changes in UI as of 10.4.7?[edit]

I've noticed that the Apple logo and the Spotlight thingy in the menubar are now slightly smaller. Has anyone else noticed this? --M1ss1ontomars2k4 (T | C | @) 00:40, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please discuss this at Talk:Mac OS X v10.4. AlistairMcMillan 04:59, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Small fair use version[edit]

I noticed that this screenshot was replaced with a much smaller version. Is this really Wiki policy? I mean, the articles about Windows have full-size screenshots. And a similar screenshot for the Mac finder is large. Why does this one have to be so small? Althepal 22:17, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Could someone point us to a page where "web-resolution" is defined? I realise the template says "a limited number of web-resolution screenshots", but I think reducing the image to almost 300x200 is perhaps going a bit far. Perhaps a new screenshot should be created at a lower resolution 800x600 or something, so at least some details are visible. AlistairMcMillan 06:08, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've uploaded a new screenshot. Lowered the resolution to 800x600, which hopefully suits the "web resolution" part of our fair use claim. Also left things as default as possible, by creating a new user account just for this screenshot. AlistairMcMillan 06:45, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If anyone has noticed, the current screenshot is not anymore web-resolution, but 1439×899px and it currently conflicts with the web resolution clause. It think it should be rescaled to lower size (I support 800px width, which I think will fit fine for most computer screen resolutions). -BStarky 17:48, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My recent revert[edit]

Hello, I recently reverted the tigerdesk image back to the version before the newest. My reasoning is that it depicts a more accurate default of Mac OS X, particularly the Macintosh HD. Curran (talk | contibs | random) 20:09, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Who cares whether we are depicting the default hard drive name, when it is too small for anyone to read. Please leave the version that is (a) small enough not to piss off the fair use nazis and (b) at a resolution where some detail can still be made out. AlistairMcMillan 20:07, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
