Speedy Delete[edit]

This is not a Public Domain image, it is owned by The Associated Press and is one of the most famous photographs in the world. A Fair Use compliant image already exists and was in use before it was replaced with this one. This image should be speedy deleted because of its improper tag. Any discussion of changing to a higher resolution should take place on that that file's talk page and any changes to a higher resolution file should take place on that file and not with a new one. -- WGFinley (talk) 13:52, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@WGFinley: What's the policy basis for your assertion that this would have to be discussed at the talk page of the existing image? It seems to me that if you have an argument to rebut the assertion of public domain (such as an explanation of how the image could be copyrighted after having been published without a copyright notice), there's no better time than the present to make that argument. Other than you said it's a Public Domain image and it's not?? --WGFinley (talk) 02:34, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This file should not be speedy deleted as having an invalid fair-use claim, because it is a public domain image, as explained in the licensing section. The person who tagged it for speedy deletion has not put forth anything to rebut that explanation. Toohool (talk) 17:45, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
