I pay a lot of attention to the ducks that live in and around this pool. Interestingly, you have captured a photo of the single Mallard duck that lived there up until early 2005. It seems to have gone now. Almost all of the ducks are Pacific Black Ducks. In summer, there are frequently only 3 or 4 ducks in the pond, but in winter the area is favoured for its protection, and many days over 40 ducks are in the pond. Throughout the year, it will be visited by Australian Shelducks.
