The caption for this photo is wrong.

I have just returned from a trip to Thailand. While there i visited the royal thai air force museum where this machine is displayed. After having a close look at the machine i conclude it is not a Ki-36, but a Ki-55. The Ki-55 can be distinguished from the Ki-36 by the following crireria: The Ki-55 has dual controls, the Ki-36 has not. The Ki-36 has additional windows in the fuselage bottom and fuselage sides, the Ki-55 does not have these. The Ki-36 has external hard points under the wing for an external bomb load,the Ki-55 does not have these. The Ki-36 has a flexible mount for a machine gun in the rear cockpit, The Ki-55 does not have this.

Nota that the current information board next to the machine list the aircraft as a Tachikawa Ki-36/55.
