Licensing and copyright information

For all intents and purposes, this image resides in the public domain for both Pakistan and the United States. This image was first published in Pakistan 79 years ago and thus satisfies the demands for free use in Pakistan (where all photographs enter the public domain fifty years after they are published). Moreover, as it came into the public domain in Pakistan in 1985, it also satisfies the free use rationale in the United States (since it's been in public domain in Pakistan prior to 1996).

The author of this work indicated herein is identified as "HIRO". Although there are no records of any person that went by that name, I was able to locate one source (which I attributed the image to and which is not the original source from where the file was first uploaded in 2008) suggesting that the author could most likely be John Ernest Brown. I hope this clears the confusion around the licensing and copyright information for this image — Arun Zaheeruddin (talk) 00:19, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
