Hello this map is incorrect! -- 06:14, 9 March 2008 99.246.80.212

Could you be more specific? It seems to reasonably well express the notion of "The Arab East, not including Arabia"... AnonMoos (talk) 09:55, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I can be more specific, the mashrek, ie: the levant, includes all lands south of the taurus mountains, and west of the zagros mountains, and north of the syrian desrt, thus exluding (as you said) the Anatolian Peninsula, the Arabia Peninsula, and Persia, but NOT excluding the Sinai desert or cyrpus, both are part of the Levant, and this is not any nationalist use of the term, this is simply the naturally geographic use of the term which is not limited by modern nation-states formed in the 20th centuries, I noticed that the article on Greater Syria also needs to be corrected since it only includes the modern nation states, and also the article on the Levant, and bilad el sham. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Elsb3antisophist (talkcontribs) 05:48, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
