The source of this photo is NARA, specifically the SS records collection at College Park, Maryland in the Archives II buildng. 3rd or 4th floor last time I was there. I got this photo for free when I visited. -Husnock 02:34, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the statute is specific. "A “work of the United States Government” is a work prepared by an officer or employee of the United States Government as part of that person’s official duties."
