Major anatomical issues

This image has some major anatomical accuracy issues, and more simply, the grey and white rami communicans labels are reversed. (References are lecture materials and Gray's Anatomy for Students 2nd edition pg 45, figure 1.46):

Note that someone else had placed this comment at General visceral afferent fibers and Sympathetic trunk, which is accurate: "Note that this image merely depicts pathways in a schematic fashion – it is not anatomically correct. The efferent sympathetics exit in a loop – entering the more lateral white and either exiting the more medial grey or traveling up/down the chain to exit grey at other ganglia."

Namely, effect sympathetic nerves travel out of the anterior root, into the proximal portion of the anterior ramus and then into the white ramus communicans (which itself is distal to the meeting of the grey ramus communicans with the anterior ramus.)

So I'm uploading an image with just the labels fixed to just fix the most apparent error, but maybe someone with artistic skills or the original author wants to draw an image more along the lines of the modern Gray's diagram or using http://home.comcast.net/~wnor/sympatheticchain.jpg (unknown copyright status.)

Well I couldn't figure out how to upload a file with the Commons stuff. So I give up. But I was just going to switch the Gray and White labels for starters as I mentioned above. Chrismarcellino (talk) 14:45, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
