Long narrow strip Flag of the Jewish Autonomous Oblast[edit]

LOL, finally, a flag for gay Jew pride! Seriously, I saw this file and thought, "Man, what kind of vandal replaces the 'Jewish Autonomous Oblast' flag, of all things, with the gay pride flag?" Then I looked at the file history, and realized it wasn't vandalism. Guess the seven colors should have tipped me off...

But since this page isn't meant for joking comments, let me ask: should the flag really be a long narrow banner? In articles, it looks like a long line, not recogizible as a flag. Is it really meant to be eight times longer than it is wide? FeygeleGoy/פֿײגעלע גױ‎ (talk) 05:34, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I went back and noticed that the flag isn't a long narrow strip, but a white flag with a rainbow stripe in the center, so I guess my concern is invalid. I saw it first in tiny icon size in the Yiddish language article, and I'd wish it could be more easily recognized as a white flag with a stripe, but I guess the presentation isn't to blame. I mean, you could put a black border around the flag and make it look like a rectangle, but if other primarily white flags don't do that, it'd be silly to force one flag to do so. Sorry...
