This is a particularly misleading diagram, the energy shells KLM do not exist as lines in direct space, but only energy space, plotting them as circles, (and most misleadingly, plotting the nucleus on this diagram) directly impliesc that these rings actually exist in direct space (as presumably some form of corresponding localised electron wavefunction). This diagram should be a graph with Energy explicitly labelled on one axis, the nucleus should not be a feature. Much more like this [1]

As a result of these concerns I will be removing it from all articles until they are addressed as I feel that it is unfit for the purpose of explaining x-ray phenomena as, rather, it much confuses the issue.
