Xinjiang[edit]

This map has major deficiencies. Prior to Islam, Xinjiang was full of Buddhist kingdoms who had more in common with Theravada than Mahayana (they were actually Sarvastivada, if I recall correctly. The Sino-Centric perspective that Xinjiang and Central Asia were only conduits for Buddhism to China is extremely outdated. prat (talk) 04:52, 4 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nanzhao and Pala[edit]

There is good documentation supporting the link between Nanzhao (Dali, Yunnan, China) and Bangladesh (Pala kingdom). Both were centers of Buddhism. Neither are marked on this map. prat (talk) 23:24, 2 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
