Leaves?[edit]

  • @ERAGON: About the comment "trees have begun to lose their leaves from the lack of rainwater." :: the fallen "leaves" look to me more like fruiting bodies of the lime tree (Tilia). Ditto in places much nearer my home where I could get there and look. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 16:45, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • I could be wrong of course, I'm no expert on the subject- but I've never seen it happen at this time of year. I've also never seen any fruit on those trees. I'll see if I can scoop up one of them and photograph it on my way home today. --ERAGON (talk) 09:25, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
      • @Anthony Appleyard: I went back through the park today, and they are indeed leaves. It's also happening to multiple species of tree throughout the park. I found an article from Cheshire reporting much the same. [1] --ERAGON (talk) 15:42, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
