Summary

Description
English: Using the molecular clock hypothesis, the corrected number of amino acid changes per 100 amino acids (m) was calculated for various species (Homo sapiens, Macaca mulatta, Macaca fascicularis, Camelus ferus, and Mirounga leonina) with ZNF226, cytochrome c, or fibrinogen alpha proteins. The values were plotted against the estimated date of divergence of the protein’s species. A line of best fit was used to determine each protein’s rate of evolution. The slope intercept formula for each protein is also included.
