Deutsch: Zürich, Adresse Obere Zäune 1, Kreuzung Hirschengraben, Kirchgasse und Obere Zäune: Das «Steinhaus», Wohnturm der Ritterfamilien Manesse (13. Jh.) und von Meiss (1401-1799). Vermutlich war die Anlage mit dem angrenzenden Lindentor Bestandteil der sogenannten ersten oder zweiten Stadtbefestigung von Zürich. Von 1803 bis 1875 war das Haus Sitz der Zürcher Staatskanzlei; Gottfried Kellers Dienstwohnung (1861-74) lag im 2. Stock. English: Zürich, Hirschengraben, Kirchgasse und Obere Zäune: «Steinhaus», Tower house of Manesse (13th century) and Meiss Knights. Estimated to be part of the so called first or second Fortifications of Zürich. 1861-1874 Gottfried Keller's office and residence as First Official Secretary of the Canton of Zurich. |
