Summary

Description A Yokosuka D4Y dive bomber (Allied code name: "Judy"), diving from the port side, misses with its bomb to the starboard side of the Casablanca-class escort carrier USS Petrof Bay (CVE-80) during the Battle of Leyte Gulf on 25 October 1944. "Taffy 1", of which Petrof Bay was a part of at the time, was under the first organized kamikaze attack of the war at the time.
