English: A scan of a sentence in Nathan Hannover's 1653 book "Yeven Metzula" about the massacres of Jews during the w:Khmelnytsky Uprising: "And now I shall commence writing of the Evil Decrees which came through (i.e. by God's will) Chmiel, may his name and memory be obliterated, in the lands of Russia (i.e. Ukraine), Lithuania and Poland in the years (5)408, '409, '410, '411 and 412."
