Summary

Description
English: Wootton House, Wootton Fitzpaine, Dorset. The seven-bay south end with a canted bay was added c.1765 by Thomas Rose-Drewe (1740-1815) to an older house. Pevsner remarks that "what saves it from being a bore is the facing of the projecting bay, the parapet and a strip over the upper string with slates that glint like fishscales." Grade II listed. Descended from Rose family to Drewe of Grange, Broadhembury, Devon, thence to Fownes Luttrell, thence to Hood.
