1. This is a rendition of a deceased historically significant person. 2. This image is to be used to illustrate a non-profit encyclopedia article about the subject of this image. 3. There are no free use alternatives to this image. 4. The photographer is unknown and there is no way to obtain clear copyright release for the image. 5. This is a low resolution rendition of the digital image, a 96 dpi scan of a halftone. As such it represents no devaluation of any value inherent in the original image. 6. As this individual is deceased, there is no way to obtain a free use alternative image in the future.
