Summary

Description
English: Photograph of the cross section (235 mm) of the en:submarine power cable (DC/AC?) used to connect the en:Wolfe Island Wind Farm with the electrical grid.
Each one of the three 230 kV copper conductors is enclosed by cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation. The six tubes are hollow filler strands. There are 36 individual fiber optic lines bundled in the middle of the three fillers at the bottom. Steel strands at the outer layer wrapped in a water-tight covering served as cable armor [1]
