Fred Seely, son-in-law of Edwin Wiley Grove, builder of Grove Park Inn, is pictured driving the 1913 Packard at the head of the motorcade. Seated in the middle of the rear of the Packard is Seely's wife. William Jennings Bryan and his wife (seated in the Packard's passenger seats) visited North Carolina in the early fall of 1913.
