Summary[edit]

File information
Description

A photograph of William Adams (1864 - 1913) who was a well known Gorleston lifesaver and who was recognised as having saved 140 lives from drowning. This photo is an enlarged section of a photo of Gorleston Swimming Club of which William Adams was the instructor. The date and photographer are unknown but it was likely to have been taken in approx. 1906 & it is a strong possibility that it was taken by club member Frank Keymer who passed away in 1915.

Source

Original publication: Never published to my knowledge. A private photograph definitely taken prior to 1913 & most likely in approx. 1906.
Immediate source: I was given a copy of the original photograph by a member of the Keymer family.

Date

Never published, probably taken in approx. 1906.

Author

Likely to have been taken by Frank Keymer and only known copy of photo was in the possession of his family.
(Life time: 1915)
