From: "Presbyterian Church, Carmine Street. New York." Dakin, James H. and Fay, Theodore S. Views in New-York and its environs, from accurate, characteristic & picturesque drawings, taken on the spot, expressly for this work, by Dakin, architect; with historical, topographical & critical illustrations, by Theodore S. Fay, (co-editor of the New-York Mirror,) assisted by several distinguished literary gentlemen. (New York: Peabody & Co., 1831). Non-numbered page of engravings.

Chapter 7, p. 54:

"Presbyterian Church, Carmine, Head of Varick Street. This recently erected edifice is one of the handsomest places of worship in the city, and the creditable manner in which it has been constructed is an honour to the respectable congregation which frequents it. It is built of white marble, in a chaste doric style, and the front has a very imposing appearance, being modelled after the celebrated ruins of the Temple of Jason, at Illisus. The interior is elegantly finished, and the whole is a very conspicuous ornament to the street."
