Description

Museum of Making Music

Washbur Guitar Model 5250, 1928
The Model 5250, the first archtop
that Washburn made, was
designed to support steel strings.
It was constructed with a 7-ply
neck that alternated mahogany
and rosewood--a method that
increased the strength of the neck,
which does not have a truss rod.

Loaned by Rudy Schlacher, Washburn, Intl.
