Description
English: United States National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) radio station WWVH's antenna field in Barking Sands, Kauaʻi, Hawaiʻi. This station broadcasts timecode information to Hawaii and the Pacific Ocean. The antennas visible, from left to right, are the 20 MHz (abandoned), 15 MHz, and 10 MHz phased antenna pairs, followed by the 2.5 MHz monopole antenna. Further right, surrounded by octagonal fences, are two broadband backup antennas used in case one of the main antennas is unavailable. To the far right, part of the station building can be seen. The photograph was taken from the 5 MHz antenna pair, which is not visible.
