Public domain This image is in the public domain in Denmark because the Danish Consolidated Act on Copyright of 2010 specifies (§91, 5) that all photographic images not considered to be "photographic works" that were created before 1 January 1970 are exempt from protection (details).

  2. it was first published before 1 March 1989 without copyright notice or before 1964 without copyright renewal or before the source country established copyright relations with the United States,
  3. it was in the public domain in its home country (Denmark) on the URAA date (1 January 1996).

In Denmark there is generally a 25 year copyright on photographs from before 1970, and a 50 year copyright on photographs from after 1970. The copyright for 70 years after the death of the photographer only applies to "photographic works", which this is not.
