Fair use rationale for List of Twilight characters[edit]

1. The image does not limit the ability of the copyright owners to market or sell their product.
2. The image is only used once and is rendered in low resolution to avoid piracy.
3. The image has been published elsewhere (see source above).
4. The image meets general Wikipedia content requirements and is encyclopedic.
5. The image is significant in identifying the principle cast of the film.
6. The image has a brief description that identifies the image, notes the source, and provides attribution to the copyright holder.

Licensing[edit]

This image is a screenshot from a copyrighted film, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by the studio which produced the film, and possibly also by any actors appearing in the screenshot. It is believed that the use of a limited number of low-resolution screenshots for critical commentary and discussion of the film and its contents on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, qualifies as fair use under the Copyright law of the United States.
