English: Veterans Memorial Bridge, looking from Salem toward Beverly. It is a steel and concrete beam bridge that replaced the Essex Bridge in 1997. From 1636 to 1738 a ferry operated here connecting Salem to Bevery. Beverly Harbor is east, to the right, while the Danvers River flows in from the west. A separate railroad bridge is visible behind it. |
