English: Velocity scan of the NWS Springfield, Missouri doppler radar indicated the intense circulation (thus the location of the tornado) situated due south of Joplin, Missouri or near the unincorporated community of Racine where 10 people were killed northwest of the area. Yellow dots indicate W-SW flow and blue/green dots indicate E-NE flow thus creating shear and strong rotation in the air. The storm had an estimated 130 knots of shear at that time. The time of the scan was at around 5:00 PM CDT.
