(#Under1000 I won't do it!'), referring to the voluntary self-commitment amongst academics in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to not take airplanes for journeys under a 1000 kilometres. This commitment is intended to mitigate the environmental impact of aviation by short-haul flights that can be easily travelled by more sustainable means of transportation, especially trains. |
