Summary

Description
English: 4CIG (Class 421) Unit 1498 at North Weald with an Epping Ongar Railway train in 2012. Class 31 loco 31438 can be seen at the rear. It finished its service on the Southern Region as a 3CIG, but an extra carriage was added in 2012 upon entry into EOR service, to restore its original four carriages. However, due to the lack of conductor rails on EOR, it is presently unpowered, acting as a push-pull Trailer Control unit, powered by a diesel (or steam) locomotive.
