Description
English: Naval Support Activity Mid-South (July 11, 2003) – The Memphis Belle B-17 "Fly Fortress" stands disassembled in its hangar across from Naval Support Activity Mid-South, where volunteer mechanics, mainly employees of Federal Express, come in on weekends to begin the long task of refurbishing the aircraft. The Memphis Belle is one of the first B-17 crews to complete 25 daylight bombing raids over Germany and occupied Europe during WW II.
