| Description |
English: Camp Patriot, Kuwait (Apr. 2, 2003) -- Steelworker 3rd Class Jason Fontaine of Amphibious Construction Battalion Two (ACB-2) homeported in Little Creek, Va., welds a seam to connect a piece of pile to the upcoming Elevated Causeway System (ELCAS), a modular structure being built at Camp Patriot. The ELCAS, a joint ACB-1 and ACB-2 effort, will serve as an additional tool in the ongoing Combined Joint Logistics Over the Shore (CJLOTS) activities. CJLOTS allows the offload of supplies, equipment and ordnance from Army and Navy prepositioning ships, to reach the troops in a timelier manner. The Seabees are deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, the multi-national coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.
