Summary

Description An aerial port bow view of the aircraft carrier USS SARATOGA (CV-60) tied up at pier. This is the first time an aircraft carrier has docked at the island Diego Garcia. On 5 December, SARATOGA proceeded south to Diego Garcia where the SARATOGA became the fist aircraft carrier to pull up pierside in that facility's history.
