Description
English: The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Hugh Purvis (DD-709) underway at sea, circa the mid-1960s. The photograph was received in June 1965 from Destroyer Development Group Two, Newport, Rhode Island (USA). The ship's developmental mission is indicated by the tall lattice mainmast and spherical radome atop her non-standard after deckhouse.
