Summary

Description
English: Galatea (American Steam Yacht, 1914); Probably photographed upon completion by her builder, Pussey and Jones of Wilmington, Delaware. This yacht was acquired by the Navy on 26 July 1917 and placed in commission on 16 November 1917 as USS Galatea (SP-714). She was stricken from the Navy list on 18 August 1919 and delivered to her purchaser on 14 February 1922. Photo #: NH 96132 The original photograph is in Record Group 19-LCM in the National Archives.
