Summary

Description The U.S. Navy miscellaneous auxiliary USS Moosehead (IX-98), in April 1943. Note the Mark 4 (FD) radar antenna atop her midships deckhouse and the boom attached to her foremast. The 102 mm/50 gun on Moosehead's foredeck was later replaced by a 76 mm/50 gun. Moosehead was formerly USS Turner (DD-259).
