Scholars are divided on the attribition of this work. Stephan Kemperdick, for example, contends that Hans Holbein is the likelier author, while John Rowlands rejects it as by Hans and tentatively attributes it to Ambrosius. Jochen Sander believes that no firm attribution can be made. References
